HOLDEN — The Finance Committee raised FY27 revenue estimates by $290,000 and added $50,000 for legal costs. Members voted 6-3 to fund defense of the Attorney General's MBTA Communities Act lawsuit, and approved $100,000 increases each for excise tax and EMS receipts. They halved a proposed $100,000 increase in water and sewer's payment for the DPW building to $50,000 and added $40,000 from the recreation revolving fund.
A member warned that "in two years, the lights go out" without new revenue. The budget remained about $184,000 short, assuming $810,000 in school savings.
